The bar is value ÷ maximum full. With a maximum of 20 and the value set from a score it becomes a health bar, for example.

You use it to address the bar later, for example to change its value.

Commands

How do I use the commands?
  1. Enter the first six commands one after another – in chat or as a chain of command blocks. The bar only shows up through the second command (players) – without it nobody sees it.
  2. Change the fill at any time with /bossbar set <ID> value <number> – from a repeating command block, for example.
  3. /bossbar set <ID> visible false hides it, the last command deletes it.
  4. A boss bar is saved with the world and survives a restart.
