Text
A text can be made of several parts, each with its own colour and style. The preview shows “Steve” for player names and “42” for scores – in game Minecraft puts in the real values.

Font, colours, shadow and line wrap follow Minecraft: chat at its default width (320 px), the title four times and the subtitle twice as large, the action bar above the hotbar. Hover over chat text that has a tooltip to see it.
Commands
Since 1.21.5 Minecraft writes text components as SNBT with click_event and hover_event, before that as JSON with clickEvent and hoverEvent.
Command too long, or should it run automatically? Here is how with a command block
- Chat only allows 256 characters. Longer commands are cut off when pasted and fail.
- Get a command block (Creative mode, cheats on):
/give @s command_block - Place it, open it with a right click, paste the copied command and click “Done”.
- Power it with a button or lever.
- For a title with a subtitle the commands have to run in the order shown: times and subtitle first, the title last – for example as a chain of command blocks.
